Neck date stamp says December 64, if you look up the number on the neck plate it says 65-66. Refinished long ago, some wear on the finish. Refretted, new Schaller tuners. Upper back of body shaped for comfort. Mini-humbucker, I believe from a 68 Les Paul Deluxe, poorly installed in neck position, sounds fantastic. Mighty Mite pickup in bridge. New wiring, 5 way switch, gives some interesting out of phase sounds. Neck and Neck+Bridge positions are particularly sweet sounding. Vintage slim neck. Frets are good, no divots, plenty of life in them. Very resonant when played unplugged, long sustain.
Have had it for decades, turns out I'm more of a Strat guy so selling. Experts at Gryphon Strings said value is mostly in the wood, but I guess the other original parts- switch plate, neck plate, what's left of the decal, are valuable too. They said $4500, I guess I could go a little lower. Cash, in person only, no Venmo or Zelle or PayPal, no trades thanks. If you can see this ad it's still available. I'm in Menlo Park weekdays, SF weekends.
