Originally based in Chicago, Cable-Nelson began manufacturing in 1903 as the Fayette S. Cable Company. Cable-Nelson focused primarily on building lower priced pianos while maintaining a high quality sound and look. Later owned by Yamaha, the Cable-Nelson line of pianos were discontinued in 2015.
