I am an experienced English reading/writing tutor and coach available for children, ESL students, and those involved in business communications. I have over 10 years of experience teaching English Language Arts, writing, and reading comprehension for K-12 students and adults. I offer private, personalized, one-on-one academic support tailored to each student's unique learning needs, goals, and pace. Whether students are looking to skill build, fill gaps, reinforce classroom learning, prepare for standardized tests, or explore advanced topics, I can provide targeted instruction in a focused environment. I have tutored aspiring teachers who were working to pass exams that enabled them to successfully earn their teaching credentials. I also write and edit marketing material and content for corporate clients as a freelance global strategic communications consultant. My history essay received the first prize in the 2019 California Pioneers essay contest! There was a $500.00 cash prize, and my scholarly essay is now part of the reference collection in the California History Room at the San Jose Public Library and the California Pioneers History Society. I am currently working on my first novel.

Recent research proves that written communication skills are at the top of employers' wish lists. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, 73.4% of employers want a candidate with strong written communication skills. Written communication was the number three most desired quality overall, behind leadership skills and the ability to work as a team member.
👩🏻💼 👨🏾💼 💻 📧 Jason Fried, founder of Basecamp (and Inc. columnist), also commented on the importance of hiring those with strong writing skills in his book, Rework. "If you are trying to decide among a few people to fill a position, hire the best writer. [His/her] writing skills will pay off. That's because being a good writer is about more than writing. Clear writing is a sign of clear thinking. Great writers know how to communicate. They make things easy to understand. They can put themselves in someone else's shoes. They know what to omit. And those are qualities you want in any candidate. Writing is making a comeback all over our society...Writing is today's currency for good ideas," he wrote.
