My Fitness Methodology

Sustainability is KEY to a life long relationship with health and fitness. My job is not to run you into the ground or work you out til you puke.

My goal is to guide you through your fitness journey in a healthy and positive manner. We will learn about lifting form and explore the psychology of fitness and diet.

It's all about baby steps. We will set our sights on attainable goals and work towards them together.

Simply put, it's all about doing 1 push up this week and 2 the next.

Why building muscle is so important for fat loss?

Muscle is a three-pronged attack against fat. It takes calories to build muscle, maintain it and you even burn calories during the workout itself. This is why Strength Training is a much more efficient and sustainable approach to fat loss vs cardio.

With cardio you only burn calories during the workout. Sure it is healthy for the heart and lungs, but with cardio only there is no muscle gain.

Your body also adapts very quickly to cardio. This means you will burn less and less calories every time you run and in turn will have to run faster and longer every time.

What is proper Strength Training?

Proper Strength Training is resistance training / weight lifting with the goal of getting stronger and building muscle. It requires long rest times (1-3 minutes) in between sets and proper form.

How many times do I need to Strength Train a week?

The cool thing about Strength Training is you only need 1x per week to reap the benefits in the beginning.
