These 2 fermenting / pickling ceramic crocks are no longer available online. They were made in Poland, and my husband bought them for me when I was in a sauerkraut and pickle making phase. They haven’t been getting much use, so I am selling. Both in like new condition, each with a set of ceramic weights that are also like new.
Here’s an excerpt from an online article with these exact crocks … “chocolate-brown crock from Boleslawiec, Poland. Like the Harsch Gärtopf crock, the Polish crock has fitted weights and a trough in which the lid rests. If you keep water in the trough through the fermentation, no yeast or mold gets inside, so you don’t have to skim scum from the surface of the kraut.” This crock is better than most American made crocks because of its impermeable glaze, inside and out, which prevents mold from growing.
The taller one is 15 L in volume, approx. 18” tall w/lid on, 13” wide. $150
The shorter one is unmarked, but I believe it is 10 L in volume, approx. 14.5” tall, 12” wide. $100
