Original Joe’s has been a San Francisco staple since 1937 and operates three of the highest-volume independent restaurants in the country. We are building a team of hospitality-focused individuals with an unwavering commitment to teamwork and exceptional service standards. We are seeking a Front of House Manager who respects our history while driving our future.
The Role:
This is a full-time, salaried leadership position responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations during assigned shifts. The Front of House Manager is expected to lead, coach, and supervise team members while maintaining operational oversight of service, guest experience, and compliance with company standards. This role is classified as exempt under California law and requires primary responsibility for the management and supervision of staff.
The Ideal Candidate

-Uncompromising Eye for Detail: You notice the crooked frame, the slightly-too-slow water refill, and the guest who looks like they’re about to ask for the check before they even lift a finger. You maintain our standards so the guest never has to.
-The "Host" Persona: You treat the restaurant like your own home. You possess the grace to handle a 45-minute waitlist and the wit to turn a guest's complaint into a loyal following.
-Operational Ownership: You understand that "Joe’s Way" means consistency. You uphold company policies, safety standards, and service steps while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities
-Team Development: Recruit, train, and retain a diverse FOH team, ensuring every member understands the "Joe’s" standard of service.
