These are the real deal, professional level made by JBL in Northridge, Ca. Originally $1700 each. The cabinets are Baltic birch plywood and designed for sound reinforcement for theaters, clubs etc. They are passive with bi-ampable crossover, wire connector or Speakon and have t-nut mounts for ever possible mounting need. I have some custom teak legs that I used for hi-fi listening and can tell you that with their 99dB efficiency (pink noise!) they'll absolutely pin you to the wall with a 5 watt SET amp. But for the subtle transients to powerful crescendos, these speakers can do it all without breaking a sweat, 24/7 at 110dB up to 130dB peaks. They are astonishing for nearly any type of music. Just add a good subwoofer to anchor in the bottom octaves.
