About the Role
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and patient personal assistant to support our younger grade school-age child with special needs. This role is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in the fields of special education, speech therapy, or behavioral analysis. You will play a key role in our child’s daily routine, providing transportation, support, and opportunities for learning and growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe and reliable transportation for the child to and from therapy appointments and activities.
• Supervise and engage with the child during after-school hours (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM), ensuring a supportive and positive environment.
• Support participation in daily routines and activities, encouraging independence and skill-building.
• Attend and observe speech therapy and behavior analyst sessions, with opportunities for training and hands-on experience.
• Communicate regularly with parents and therapists to ensure consistency in care and support strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
• Experience working with children, preferably those with special needs (formal or informal).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Energetic, patient, and compassionate personality.
• Willingness to learn and receive training from therapists and behavior analysts.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent schedule.
