You are looking at a 2000 Porsche 911 c2 manual coupe also known as a 996. Selling because of a recent purchase of a 993 c4s, this car has been wonderful over the years, seeing it go to a good home will bring joy. Owned since 2005, this car has been adult owned and never abused used as a secondary car on the weekends. The car has 86,000 miles and has been garaged or covered the majority of its life. The IMS bearing was changed 500 miles ago, which has plagued this generation of 911. No need to worry about reliability as it’s been gone through for the next owner.

This 996 is in great condition inside and out, the body is very straight with nearly no dents. Paint is great with a little fading on the retractable spoiler. Front and rear Bumpers have been repainted, with the rear being an updated bumper cover for looks. Interior has held up well over the years with minimal wear on the center console and drivers seat. Car still smells of leather, and was kept clean. Factory black floor mats give a good contrast to the Natural brown leather interior with optional leather dashboard / door cards. Everything works, AC blows cold, dual climate control functions with bright displays. Interior is tight with no rattles, buttons are still crisp with no little to no wear. The car has it’s factory BBS Sport Classic II which are in great condition, they are a 2-piece design. Wonderful color combination with the natural brown interior on Ocean blue metallic paint, brought together with 18inch BBS wheels.

Brake service was done 10k miles ago with fresh pads, and new rotors including fluid flush. The brakes feel on point with great modulation and feel, as they should on a Porsche 911. Along with the brakes, a new water pump with coolant flush was performed, and of course oil changes were regular. When the IMS bearing was replaced, the clutch disc was inspected and measured. The mechanic said the clutch had plenty of life left with no signs of changing. Engine pulls hard, feels very tight and sounds even better with every gear change. The suspension and steering is very tight, while being well dampened for a OEM setup. I am surprised how ridgid the chassis is, which gives excellent feedback and feel. The car is great as a grand tourer, it can be a little firm over jaring bumps but easily overlooked when you remember it’s tailored as a sports car.

Having owned an early short wheelbase 911, G-model, 993 and this 996; The water cooled 996 is a true modern drivers car. While the other cars give you more spirit from an air cooled motor and design, this water cooled 996 just feels right without the vintage quirks. From the comfort level to the driver feedback through the rigid chassis, to the power delivery, it’s just a great package. The 996 might not be the collector car of the decade, but it’s truly a fantastic car from behind the wheel. I encourage you to find a better packaged platform, and to find a clean example like this one. Car will speak for itself, feel free to ask and question or pick my brain. Private sale from a Porsche enthusiast. I am both sad but excited to see this car go to a good home.
