The first generation Dodge Viper RT/10 is one of the most raw and iconic American sports cars. Introduced in 1992, the first generation RT/10 Vipers were designed to be a modern recreation of the Shelby Cobras. Using light weight composite body work and a naturally aspirated 8.0 V10 engine with 400 hp and 460 lbft the Viper is the ultimate sports car that is fun, fast and reliable. By avoid complex Vanos systems, IMS bearing or electronics the Viper was developed using the 'no replacement for displacement' philosophy. The V10 is overbuilt and under-stressed which results in long term reliability and simple to work on. The Viper is best known for the features it lacks: traction control, airbags, windows, exterior door handles, A/C and many other standard features.
So why am I selling the Viper? This is a no-stories car, I'm not having a baby, getting divorced/married and haven't been recruited to the space program. I've decided to sell the car as I only have a two car garage and can't justify buying another car without selling one first. Also, if you've read this far include "Jet Black" in subject line and I'll knock off $500 from the price assuming you don't send me a one-liner email asking 'is it available.'
Quick summary of the car:
1994 Dodge Viper RT/10
Clean title, third owner
Factory jet black
Low mileage 36.0k miles
Never tracked or auto-crossed
$5000 in receipts and maintenance
Factory soft-top, plastic windows and original wheels included
I purchased the car from the second owner about 4 years ago. The car has lived in the Bay Area all it's life and has been carefully maintained and garaged.
After purchasing the car, I had Ted @ Valaya Motorsports (highly recommend him, as he is a Viper Tech who owns multiple Vipers) in San Jose inspect the car and complete any overdue maintenance.
Receipts are available for review, but a summary of the repairs done in the last 2500 miles:
Head gasket replaced with Cometic gaskets
I've added some basic upgrades to improve the performance and appearance of the Viper. Note, the car passes Smog with no issues.
18" Toyo R888 tires and BBS LM wheels
Edelbrock headers (CARB Legal)
The interior is stock and in great condition.
Excellent condition. Only notable flaw is some clear coat fading on the drivers side door. Trades?
Prefer cash, but I'll entertain trades for (please don't offer me your Isuzu Rodeo!)
Car must have character
Short list: BMW M Coupe, 04' VW R32, NSX, KITT replica, 40s slantbacks/buisiness coupes, hotrods, restomods...
58cm carbon fiber disc road bike frame/ complete bike (prefer Sram)
Is the car available?
Yes. If you see this ad, I haven't received the cash or money in my bank account.
Also, the standard "I know what I have" and no-scammers/ tire kickers. Test drives only given to serious buyers with proof of funds.
