The Suzuki Jimny JA11 model is one of the most popular of the Japanese market only Kei-class mini 4WD SUVs. This super rare example has been fully equipped with aftermarket Jimken Tac upgrades including modified suspension and lift kit, cold air intake and a blow off valve for the turbo. It is ready for rock crawling or highway driving. Not originally available in the US, importable now via the 25 year exemption.
This example comes to us direct from Japan and is right hand drive. the jaunty 2-door body is in good condition and fitted with a robust roof rack and rear door ladder. Metal tread plates protect the front corners and door bottoms. The hood features a serious scoop for the turbo intercooler and a set of auxiliary lamps are fitted below the front bumper. The rear side windows flip out for ventilation. The overall package presents as a super sporty mini SUV, with a rugged style, ready for adventure.
This Jimny rocks a Jimken Tac lifted suspension front and rear and grabs on with Deestone D-Trac 7.00 x 16 off-road boots fitted to Jimken Tac alloy wheels. The front hubs feature manual locking for maximum traction. Approach, departure and breakover angles are exceptional, and the Jimny delivers awesome and impressive off road excitement.
The interior features an industrial style, no nonsense trim and novel details.
A stout woodrim wheel commands the right hand drive set up with a simple gauge cluster and warning light array behind it. there are several toggle switches for various functions. The column lock and wiring is protected by a fabricated metal box. Hefty levers manage the transmission and transfer case. The driver’s seat is a sporty Recaro with a fold down armrest and the passenger seat offers large side bolsters and fabric upholstery. The rear seat is a removable vinyl bench with a back that can also be folded down.
The dash offers a center stack with a boost gauge, HVAC controls for the heater, ventilation and air conditioner and a Kenwood CD unit. A large glove box is accessed via a metal door. Floors are covered with thick rubber matting. Door cards are as basic as it gets. Overall condition shows plenty of patina and signs of use and some modifications. Strictly business is the tone, well used - but plenty of life left.
Under the hood the 657cc turbocharged SOHC inline 3 is neatly fitted and mates to a 5-speed manual. A separate transfer case provides 2H (RWD), 4H (4WD) and 4L (4WD low range) modes. The fuel injected motor breathes thru an intercooler and offers up 64 horsepower and 69 lb-ft of torque. Performance is modest but amusing and the top speed is 80 mph.
The odometer shows only 50,447 miles (81,188 km) and the powertrain is in good working order.
