Hey there! My name is Anna Troy and I'm thrilled to welcome you to my musical world, where family and music are my guiding principles. It all started at age 12 with a Baby Taylor guitar from my dad—a gift that truly changed my life! Since then, I've been playing music every day, whether I'm teaching guitar students, rocking out at gigs, or hitting the studio.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Columbia University (2019) and I am an active and accomplished musician. I have 10 years of experience as a guitar instructor teaching all ages and skill level in the styles of pop, rock, blues and jazz. In addition to my teaching experience, I perform as a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and producer with Bagwell & Troy in the Bay Area (April 2023-present), playing regularly at local venues. My band, the Anna Troy Band (2002-present) has had the opportunity to support international acts such as The Yardbirds and Johnny Winter. Earlier in my career, as a recording artist with The Troys on Elektra Records (2000-2002), I toured nationally, appeared on MTV, and had an original song placed in The Power Puff Girls movie. Karaoke enthusiasts can also find one of our original songs on the Karafun song list that KJ’s often use.
