I’m selling these as one lot: a collection spanning some four decades.
Labels include Mr. D’s, Sonni of California, Amrose, Gene Doris, Helen Richards, Henry Pollack, and – the star of the show – Norman Paulvin.
Two appear to be privately crafted: an outrageous flowered hat with a purple-crocheted base (minor yellowing on some of the petals), and a close-fitting gold winter cap with a subtle glow to the yarn.
The Paulvin turban-shaped hat is the most unusual in the lot. It photographs silver but it's actually a shiny black. Brilliant design.
Two other standouts: a white feathered pillbox that appears to be maribou, and a simple headpiece of (fox?) fur and netting.
Condition notes: some of these have faded a bit, but not as severely as they appear in the pics which really drain them of color. The green cap with the fruit trim has some dark spots on the top, visible in the picture.
See the pics and please ask any questions you like – I’m happy to send any specific pictures you like.
Enjoy these yourself or sell them separately for a nice profit. They’re less than ten dollars each here.
If you’re interested in a single hat, you’re welcome to drop me an email. If the lot doesn’t sell I’ll be in touch.
Click the “more listings” link to see all that I’m putting up – figurines, hats, Lenox collectibles, vintage clothing and hats. I’m selling off collections from many decades – from the 40s through today, and some antiques.
Please pick these up in the San Carlos hills for *CASH ONLY*, no other form of payment accepted.
