San Francisco is home to the first Order of the Eastern Star chapter in California, which was organized on May 10, 1869. Thus, it has a significant history.
These are 2 documents: the smaller is the official invitation. The last 2 photos are of the historical program for a formal installation ceremony. The first of these is unopened and the other one is opened to see all 3 panels.
There is a lot of local history with family genealogy, etc. for those whose families may have been a part of the order at that time and, of course, these orders are in all states and around the world, so are currently thriving.
