I have a cute BONGO BENNY the Barrel Monkey made in Japan - This item is a Battery-Operated Monkey. He is supposed to have his head patted gently so that he would Jump and Speak and then he'll beat the Barrel for you. I am the original owner and purchased him brand new in operation condition and was used for decoration in our nursery. He went into storage in excellent condition for over 39 years in his original box. I recently took him out of storage to discover he DOESN'T want to operate, even with brand new batteries. So I've decided to SELL FOR ROOM DECORATION in a childs room who loves Monkey's, or to someone who loves to tinker repairing vintage toys as a hobby. I can't understand why he doesn't want to work b/c no batteries were ever left inside while stored.
