Designed by Olin Stephens, the Tartan 30 was built by Tartan Marine and launched in 1972.
A masthead sloop with a fixed fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, the Tartan 30 appeals to sailors in search of an affordable easy-to-handle boat.
The yacht has a graceful and an uncluttered deck trimmed with hints of teak.
The mast steps through the deck to the lead ballast for additional strength. The deck is plywood cored fiberglass sandwich construction. Single lower and upper shrouds are brought inboard to bulkhead-fastened chain plates, providing the yacht with closer-winded sailing ability and easier access to the foredeck.
The boat sleeps 6 in two quarter berths, a V-berth forward, and a port berth in the main cabin that converts into a double.
The head is enclosed with a door to create privacy by closing off the forward cabin. It has a SS wash basin and shower drain. A hanging locker is opposite the head.
This Aft galley version adds settee berth to starboard in the main cabin with the galley placed close to the companionway. Deck- loaded icebox with galley-access to food in the galley. Equipped with a SS sink and two burner SS cooktop.
