This is a Trek 1220 Aluminum ZX Series with an aluminum frame with chromoly steel fork. This vintage classic harkens from back when Trek made bicycles right here in the US. The bike has a Shimano 600 Tricolor drivetrain and brakes. The 2x8 gearing is in full working condition and the bike still has plenty of miles left. The frame also has slick internal cable routing for the rear brake (unique for the era). The finish still looks great. This bike would make a great “starter” road bike but it can also serve as a daily commuter.
With a 55cm effective top tube and a 53cm seat tube (c-c), the bike size is 54 cm and with the old-school geometry, this bike should fit most riders in the 5'6" to 5'9" range. The standover measurement is 31.5".

This Trek 1220 is in nice shape overall for the vintage. There are a few minor cosmetic scuffs, a and scrapes, but the finish still looks great with a partial purple to blue fade. Mechanically, the bike is tuned and is ready to ride.
