The Specialized Rockhopper is one of the oldest models in mountain biking and we have a fine example of the lineage with this aluminum-framed hardtail model featuring a SRAM 3x8 drivetrain, mechanical disc brakes, Suntour suspension fork and 26x2.10” tires. The Suntour XCR fork takes the edge off the rough stuff, while the Panaracer Fire XC Pro tires roll well and can work on dirt, gravel or pavement. This Specialized Rockhopper is a good all-arounder and could be a good “starter” mountain bike but can also pull light commuter duty.
With a 23.2” effective top tube and a 15”cm seat tube (c-c), the official size is 17.5" and should fit most riders in the 5'6" to 5'9" range.
The 3x8 drivetrain provides plenty of gearing for just about any climb you could encounter. The mechanical disc brakes also provide good stopping power. This bike is a good all-arounder. The bike is in overall Good used condition. There are some minor scuffs and scrapes from normal usage. The saddle has a small tear on the right side of the nose (see photo). Mechanically, the bike is tuned and ready to ride.
