This Scott Comp Racing is a vintage MTB hardtail with Ritchey Logic Super Tubing by Tange. It has collectible value but it completely rideable. It is from 1993 or 1994 and features a Shimano LX 3x7 drivetrain, Marzocchi Bomber Marathon XC fork and V-brakes. While it would look great in a collection, this bike could also make a decent around-town bike because it has been fitted with pavement-oriented tires. The Tange/Ritchey steel gives a lively feeling to the bike and the bike has just the right amount of patina for that legit MTB cred.
With a 22.5” effective top tube and 15.75” seat tube (c-c), this bike sizes like a medium and should fit most riders in the 5'6" to 5'9" range.
Parts highlights include the Shimano Deore LX cranks and derailleurs, LX rear hub, XT front hub, Shimano V-brake (rear), Forte V-brake (front), Shimano Deore brake levers, Microshift trigger shifters, new EVO saddle, Ritchey seatpost, Easton Monkeybar, Panaracer Tour 26x1.50” rear tire and Forte City ST 26x1.5” front tire.
This classic Soctt is in Good to Very Good overall condition for the vintage. Cosmetically, there are a few minor nicks and scrapes here and there from normal usage. The fork holds air and feels pretty good with a push test. The wear in the stickers and finish are called patina and add to the history and appeal of this collectible bike. Mechanically, the bike is fully functional, tuned and ready to ride.
