This thing will save you ton of money if you are training for instrument rating, or just started your flying lessons.
The Logitech G Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, the most realistic aircraft simulator controller. Forget joysticks, it feels like a real airplane! Works with any flight sim software like Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. You will gain an essential instrument skill: proper scan, as well as avionics buttonology, learning how avionics works.
Here are some key features:
- Precision Control: It features a stainless steel shaft, feels responsive, just like a real plane. Unlike plastic yokes that that get stuck after a while.
- 25 programmable buttons and switches. You can assign any function available in the sim to any button, from trim up/down to autopilot disconnect and everything in between. I can show you how.
- "Hat" toggle switch lest you move the view on screen like if you are moving your head in a real airplane.
- Built-in timer lets you practice instrument holds and other timed procedures.
IMHO flying airplanes is all about proper distribution of attention: you learn where to look and what to see. If you tried a demo flight in a Cessna you know how overwhelming it gets, so many things to keep an eye on. Flight simulators train for exactly that skill, seeing many things at once and interpreting what you see. Pretty much for nothing, compare to using flight school simulators or the actual flying lessons with the instructor.
Most flight simulators have all the popular plane models and equipment, from the basic 6-pack with G430 to G1000 with autopilot. You can learn all this at home without paying $60-80 per hour for using a flight school simulator, with better graphics and reality. IMHO X-Plane or MSFS are much better than POS RedBird sims most flight schools have. You can't log sim time with these, but you can build a valuable instrument scan and procedural skills for free! For me flying a real Cessna with G1000 was a breeze after using these sims.
I got my instrument rating, so I just don't need them anymore. Asking $60. I can hook it up to my laptop with X-Plane and you can test it fully, to make sure everything works.
Can meet you anywhere on the Peninsula or East Bay.
