we have a sleigh bed from our French family that we brought to the US. it probably dates to early 20th century. it was in grandparents or great grand parents home in the Alsace Area of France.
I think it is walnut but it is solid wood construction with classic design without any fancy carving.

it does have a horse hair mattress that is about 5" thick that sits on an ancient box spring.
the Bed measures 81 x 50. there are no manufactures markings as best I can tell. it is in good to fair condition.
