Compensation:$55,000- $65,000 yearly DOEE + Full Benefits Package

Position Description:Under supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Payroll & Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for administering in-house payroll for an employee base of 450-500.  The incumbent also provides accounting support primarily in, but not limited to, the areas of benefit accounting, general ledger and other accounting related functions. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly payroll, create checks/direct deposits in Paycom (payroll online system).
  • Process final MIP paychecks for terminated employees.
  • Maintain employee payroll records.
  • Coordinate with HR on any Paycom setup issues
  • Perform Import of payroll data from Paycom on a biweekly basis.
  • Review and setup additional department codes in Paycom.
  • Process employee approved scheduled reimbursable expenses via Payroll.
  • Review reports and initiate transfer of payroll system journals to MIP Accounting.
  • Print and distribute W2 at year end.
  • Depositing cash and checks.
  • Prepare journal entries as request from Accounting Manager or Director of Finance and Accounting.
  • Perform reconciliation on payroll related Balance Sheet accounts and other General Ledger accounts.
  • Perform other related duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be passionate about Caminar's mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Payroll
  • Ability to prepare Journal Entries, independently.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including extensive work with Microsoft Office (Word, and Excel). 

 

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.
  • This position will require occasional driving so maintaining a valid CA driver license, reliable personal automobile, a clean driving record, and current insurance as required by law are essential job requirements.
