We are a dynamic and growing, family-owned real estate and property management company, dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients and tenants. We manage a diverse portfolio of residential properties and are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive accountant to join our team. We are based in Burlingame.
The position will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, including property-level accounting, financial reporting, and oversight of accounts payable/receivable. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial records and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain general ledger and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and tenant billing
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow across properties
• Track and report on property income, expenses, and budgets
• Process rent collections and ensure proper allocation of payments
• Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory filings as required
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting for each property
• Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate expense tracking
• Support external audits and tax preparation
• Maintain organized records of leases, contracts, and financial documents
• Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Buildium)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
