Environmental construction firm is looking for a temporary Flagger to support project in San Francisco (3-4 weeks). MUST have flagger certification AND experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Traffic Direction: Manage the flow of vehicles through active work zones using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and traffic control equipment.
- Work Zone Safety: Help ensure a safe environment for both crew members and the public by keeping traffic lanes controlled and organized.
- Traffic Control Setup: Set up, adjust, and remove temporary traffic control devices such as cones, barrels, and signage as needed throughout the job.
- Team Coordination: Stay in communication with other flaggers (typically by radio) to manage two-way traffic and quickly alert the crew if any safety issues arise.
- Observation & Reporting: Stay alert to unsafe driver behavior and report concerns or violations to the site supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current flagger certification (ATSSA, OSHA, or state-approved equivalent).
- Physical Ability: Able to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Situational Awareness: Strong attention to surroundings and the ability to react quickly when traffic conditions change.
- Communication: Clear and confident communication when directing traffic and working with other crew members.
