10' Glider - Eagle - Triple Stringer
Hand shaped by Dominic Picone out of the Gordon & Smith factory in San Diego. This is modeled off the Skip Frye Eagle. IFKYK.
I've owned two Frye Eagles prior to this board -- and this board rides just like the OG at a fraction of the price. The roots to the Eagle design run deep. Originally designed by Skip Frye for G&S in 1967 just before the "Short Board Revolution", it was later refined in 1991 when Skip Frye got jazzed on riding boards that tapped into the essence of ancient Hawaiian trim. He would use to "Cross Country" surf around the San Diego reefs catching and riding waves that no one thought was possible.
The Eagle is all about minimal movement and just letting the feeling of ultimate glide bleed through the board and into your feet -- and is defined by its sleek pointed nose and tail, parallel rails for speed, and "hipped" round pintail for smooth fluid turns.
The board is a dream to paddle and flies down the line when trimmed. Proven winner up and down the coast from The Patch, to Cowells, to Big Sur, to Swamis, this board catches more waves early, and lets you ride them longer.
I've added to my quiver and this board needs to be ridden vs stored in my garage. Freshly cleaned and ready for her new home.
Note: There are a few minor pressure marks on the deck by the tail. I'll throw in the board bag for free.
