This is the Vacuum Switch Unit that tells the MCU Computer the engine load under various operating conditions.
I don't remember if these were only used on California Emissions Equipped vehicles exclusively or not.
These were usually mounted on the valve cover of 6 cylinder Ford trucks, Vans and Broncos.
If you have a vintage truck with this system then you know what it is,
and also know if one of these switches malfunctions it affect driveability and possibly emissions.
One Vacuum elbow Broken see pictures. All 4 Vacuum Switches tested and working!
They are normally closed electrically.
Each circuit goes from closed to open when vacuum is applied to the respective switch.
