This listing is for one used 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 2 bolt main bare block.
$400 cash for the block only.
The block is stamped 119Z348164, which indicates it originally came out of a Fremont built Chevelle or El Camino SS396.
It has an assembly date stamp of T0418JA which shows it was built on April 18, 1969 as a 325HP engine with a four speed transmission.
The casting number is 3955272 with a casting date code of C 27 9 (March 27, 1969).
The block was recently cleaned and mag’d and does not have any cracks or issues. It was previously bored to .030 over and does have some usage/wear, but should be good for a fresh .040 or larger oversize bore for the next build. The rust you see in the pictures is only surface rust from sitting around after being cleaned.
I believe this casting number was also used in Camaro and Nova in case you are looking for a period correct block for one of those cars.
The block is located at my home in Petaluma, Ca.
Please email, call or text me to arrange a time to inspect the block. Generic “Is it still available” messages will be ignored. Please put some content into your message so I know it’s not spam.

Also available for an extra $200 (only if you purchase the block) is a forged steel 6223 Big Block (396, 402, 427) crankshaft that could be used for this engine. It is currently turned .010 / .010 and mag’d OK as well.
