Offering up a lightweight tripod pairing of the MANFROTTO 190 Carbon Fiber Tripod and the Velbon QHD-71Q Magnesium Heavy-Duty Ballhead w/Quick Release. Here’s what’s offered:
• MANFROTTO 190 Carbon Fiber 3-Section Tripod w/Horizontal Column, made in Italy, is used but well-kept. It has the innovative feature a center column that converts 90-degrees for horizontal shooting. The column rotates neatly and tucks into the tripod’s top casting. This offers flexibility to catch new perspectives, horizontally or vertically, without taking the equipment off the tripod. The 3-section tripod has carbon fiber leg tubes that offer maximum rigidity and stability. Legs easily extend w/flip-lock levers. Closed, the tripod is about 24” L; maximum w/column extended, 63” H and w/column down, 53” H. The power-lock at the top casting allows movement of each leg individually for greater control and flexibility on uneven terrain. Leg angles are set at 25-, 46-, 66-, and 88-degrees. It has a built-in, rotating bubble level to assist in the set-up. It weighs about 3-1/2 lbs., with a carrying capacity of about 15 lbs. Original tripod retail carton, instruction pamphlet and various hang-tags are included. New model of the 190 carbon tripod retails in the $200 - $300-range.
• Velbon QHD-71Q Magnesium Ballhead w/Quick Release (QR) is heavy-duty ballhead made from magnesium alloy, w/ full-size quick-release camera platform. With its magnesium construction it’s lighter by 20-percent over traditional metals, but with the same stability and quality. It has a one-touch locking knob that controls both the panning and ball movement simultaneously. The QR base has lost some black epoxy coating but does not adversely affect QR use. The quick-release plate is brand-new, about 2” w x 4” L. It has a reversible threaded stud to accommodate 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod mount threads. The ballhead has 2 spirit levels for fine-tuning the camera alignment. The ballhead is about 4” H x 2-1/2”-dia., weighs about 1 lbs. and support a load up to 13 lbs. New model of the QHD-71Q Ballhead retails for about $200. A pairing of new tripod and ballhead would be in the $400 - $500-range, but in combination the tripod and ballhead are a bargain here, available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
