Though very compact, this DX Nikkor has remarkable telephoto reach, equivalent to a 80-300mm on a full-frame camera. It’s great for people, sports and travel and is the perfect complement to the 18-55.
Glass is clean and clear, aperture blades are dry and diaphragm is “snappy”.
Let me unpack the “alphabet soup” of it’s many features…
DX - Nikon’s designation for APS-C lenses.
SWM - Silent Wave Motor. Auto focus is lightning-fast and quiet.
ED - Extra Low Dispersion Glass. Has at least one ED element to improve sharpness, color and contrast.
G - Aperture is electronically controlled.
Includes Nikon front and rear lens caps and Nikon HB-34 hood.
