SUPREMELY capable and versatile, this range of manual zoom has nonetheless become, I fear, the Rodney Dangerfield of lenses (it gets NO respect…I don’t know why). Covering short telephoto to longer telephoto, this 75-200 is great for people, portraits and sports. I have LOVED every one of the zooms that I’ve ever owned in this focal range. The “one-touch” design has a single, wide ring for framing and focus; action is silky-smooth and perfectly damped. Provides quality macro images at up to 1:4.5.
Works great on DSLRs and mirrorless bodies (with adapter) and, of course, on Minolta film cameras.
Glass is clean and clear, aperture blades are dry and diaphragm is “snappy”.
