Issued by the Franklin Mint from 1974-1978, this set is relatively scarce with less than 7000 made.

This is a complete set of 50 Sterling silver proof medals, one for each state in the union. Each is packaged in a first day cover letter with "50 States - One Nation USA Bicentennial" cancellation stamp over a state stamp issued on a first day issue.

The 50 coins with first day of issue cover letters are displayed in a large padded binder. Each coin is 0.61 troy ounces according to the Franklin Mint. The set has a combined sterling silver weight of about 30.5 troy ounces. The coins are 39 mm in diameter and 92.5% sterling silver. This a proof set with each coin in its own protective case
