Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Compensation: $44,000-$52,000 annually ($21-25/hour) depending on experience
Overview of Trips for Kids Marin:
Trips for Kids Marin (TFKM) is a nonprofit dedicated to “providing transformative cycling experiences for underserved youth.'' TFKM was founded in 1988 and has opened the world of cycling to thousands of children. We aim to build self-esteem, inspire healthy lifestyles, and instill environmental values through our bike-based programs. Additionally, we operate the Recyclery bike shop where we refurbish bikes to resell to our community at affordable prices.
About the Role:
The Operations Manager position is a critical inward facing role focused on ensuring the smooth running of the organization and its internal operations. The Operations Manager will analyze and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency. The Operations Manager will be a key creator of sustainable systems and structures and will focus on supporting staff to better achieve the TFKM mission.
The position is focused on five key areas including; office management (20%), human resources (20%), accounting support (20%), departmental support (10% development, 10% programs, 5% board), and special projects (15%).
Primary Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Office Management (20%)
- Overall office organization
- Equipment/supplies purchase coordination
- Basic IT support
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers
- Respond to phone, email, in person inquiries as needed
Human Resources (20%)
- Assist with onboarding and off-boarding of staff
- Ensure employee policies and handbooks are accurate and updated
- Bi-monthly payroll review
- Support health/dental insurance management and renewal process
- Support overall staff well-being and satisfaction
Accounting Support (20%)
- Accounts receivable processing
- Accounts payable coding, approvals, and reconciliation
- Weekly deposits and change procurement
- Support annual budget development
Departmental Support (25%)
- Development Team Support:
-- Salesforce tracking & reconciliation
-- Support giving campaigns
- Program Support:
-- Assist in developing sustainable systems
-- Support data tracking and evaluation
- Board Support:
-- Set dates and arrange meeting space for bimonthly meetings
-- Update materials and program dashboard for board review
Special Projects (15%)
- Engage in evolving projects in collaboration with the Executive Director to further the mission of TFKM.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience in management, operations, and/or leadership.
Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional problem solving skills.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite programs.
Excitement to support and engage with the TFKM mission.
This position has some flexibility and can accommodate 32-40 hours per week. At a minimum this position requires the employee to be in the office Tuesday-Friday during regular business hours.
$21-25/hour, depending on experience.
