Between the Mexican and the USA-made Strats, there are no differences in the wood materials, electronics, hardware, build quality, and (good) craftsmanship. The affordable price point variable is made possible by lower labor costs. The process of assembling the guitars is the same. All tuners, bridges, pots, pickups, everything, is designed by Fender engineers. Neither country uses a method that is more hand-built or machine-built than the other. The QA procedures are all the same as well. All MIM guitars are QC'd an additional time at Fender's main distribution center in Ontario, California, before final "finished goods" shipment destinations.
