This is a double sided tree trunk drum that measures approx. 28" in diameter and is 16" high. I've had it for 20 years and it's very stable, no cracks or checks and the heads are like the day I bought it in AZ. I looked online for something similar and came up with this (US Only: Ceremonial Drum, 24" to 28", Horse, Elk, Buffalo or Moose, Maple Hoop, Stand, Two Beaters, Grandmother Council Powwow Large Drum

So $500 seems like a fair price for this large deep sounding drum.
