Beautiful Taylor 555 Natural Acoustic/ Electric Jumbo Guitar 12 string guitar for sale by long time owner-musician. 1991 model in very good to excellent condition with no modifications. Looks really good on stage (see photos). Built in California, solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides, natural gloss finish, and a full 17" lower bout jumbo body for big projection and rich overtones. Mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard and ebony bridge, with a comfortable thin‑wide Taylor profile and 25.5" scale that make this one of the easier‑playing 12‑strings.
The sound is big, clear, and harmonically rich with plenty of shimmer on top, strong low‑end, and excellent balance across the strings-great for live accompaniment or recording, bright enough to cut through the recording mix.. No cracks, repairs, or modifications. Neck is straight, truss rod functions properly, and action is comfortable up the neck, true to Taylor’s reputation for fast, electric‑like playability on a 12‑string. n the studio, or that will amplify beautifully when fed through the built-in factory pickup. Nice appointments include an abalone rosette, tortoise plastic pickguard and quality original tuners.
All original, including original hard case (which is fully functional but I stripped it to wood/plywood after vinyl peeled). Including original electronics, so no integrated pre-amp like modern Taylors, but you get a classic rich vintage tone for direct microphone on-stage or when recording.
Happy to let serious buyers (I'll recognize you) play it for a while here near Sausalito before buying, to make sure you love it. Is priced to sell, listing on Reverb for $200 more than price here.
