Marshall 1987x mkII reissue. Great condition. I had a PPIMV volume added by a professional amp tech (pot on back panel). This is a great mod that allows you to turn up the volume for drive while keeping the sound level reasonable. If you turn up all the way the mod is out of the circuit. A fantastic amp and a classic for a reason.

A Marshall PPIMV (Post-Phase Inverter Master Volume) is a popular modification for non-master volume (NMV) or old Marshall amps, allowing you to get cranked, overdriven tones at much lower, usable volumes by placing a master volume control after the phase inverter, before the power tubes, preserving that classic PI distortion. It's a common DIY upgrade or kit that adds a control knob, often with a dual potentiometer, to achieve rich preamp/phase inverter saturation without extreme loudness, offering more flexibility than pre-phase inverter masters by keeping the phase inverter itself clipping.
