Vintage Kalimba/Gourd Thumb Piano (or Finger Harp) is a handheld musical instrument of African origin, in the Lamellophone family, consisting of a wooden board (mounted on gourd) with attached metal tines that are plucked with the thumbs to produce sound. It’s held in both hands, and the tines are plucked with the thumbs to create notes. The working side of the Kalimba has a wooden face w/8 metal tines and a sound hole, mounted on half of a dried calabash gourd, making it about 9” L x 6” W x 2” D. The body and metal tines are in good condition, but buyer will need to tune it. It’s available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
