If you have multiple cables running from your pedalboard to your amp, you need a Pedalsnake. FX loop send/returns? No problem. TRS for channel switching? No problem. 5pin DIN for MIDI or complex amp foot controllers. Got that too.
The Pedalsnake is 24 feet long and has 4 lines. The tails on the snake’s board and amp ends are color coded. They are all 5 pin DIN, and modular. You then have different types of cable ends (1/4”, TRS, etc.) that plug into the DIN ends, so you can have whatever cables you need for your rig. In my case, I have 5 pairs of ends- three standard 1/4”, one 1/4” TRS and one Y cable with 2 1/4” cables for FX loop send/return. At one point I used the Pedalsnake like this:
- one 1/4” line went to the input of the amp
- one 1/4” TRS line handled the channel switch foot pedal for my amp
- one Y line was the FX send and return for effects running into my effects loop
- one line was used as a 5 pin DIN to midi control a rack.
You can eliminate multiple cables on the floor with a Pedalsnake. I don’t need mine anymore.
