I’m selling a 2003 Fender Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue, a beautiful and somewhat harder-to-find finish that really stands out in person. This guitar came from a collector who recently passed away, and it spent more than two decades stored safely in its case. Because of that, it still feels and plays like a brand-new instrument. It’s extremely clean, very lightweight, and the tone is exactly what you hope for from a good Strat from this era—clear, lively, and expressive.
The rosewood fretboard has a smooth satin feel, the guitar is set up perfectly, and it plays effortlessly up and down the neck. There’s also an interesting pickup selector option that seems to act as a boost or an alternate wiring combination, which gives you a bit more tonal flexibility than a standard five-way Strat.
It comes with its original hardshell case, a leather strap, and the whammy bar.
Asking $1,800, and I’m open to trades for a Telecaster, arch top, heritage, Gibson Taylor or something unique.
