A PIECE OF HISTORY FOR SALE: This is a beautiful bike that runs well and gets loads of attention. So many times people are thrilled to see it (and take pictures) and tell me the stories of having one like it when growing up. This is Honda's scrambler edition with a raised exhaust. I bought this in 2022 and am selling it due to medical issues. I smile every time I get on it.
A total refurbish was done in 2016 in Sacramento that included strip to frame; powder coat; new paint & stripes; most chrome re-chromed; new tires, brakes, and engine rebuild, etc. I have the paperwork for most of the refurbish. It totaled a little over $8000.
It looks great (not quite showroom, but close) and runs well. In 2024 it started running a little sketchy and leaking a little oil and some gas. I took it to Reliable Cycles in Oakland a vintage bike repair that only takes pre 1978 bikes. Taylor who owns it found that when the engine was rebuilt and put back together, whoever did it didn’t really know old bikes and he replaced some parts that should not have been used and repaired others. I spent a little over $3000 for that work (and have receipt and description of work done). The bike runs great now. The only issue I’m aware of is the tackometer goes wonky around 6000 RPM.
I have put less than 100 miles on it since the 2024 work. I love the bike and still get it out a bit so no need offering low ball numbers.
