Vintage RRP Co Lg Pasta Bowl was made in Roseville OH ca. Mid-Century, possibly in the 1950s. As the name implies, it was marketed as a pasta serving bowl. The exterior is adorned with a Cobalt Blue sponge-applied finish in random pattern, the interior unadorned in natural clay finish, clear-glazed. The bowl is big, beautiful and somewhat heavy, weighing about 5 lbs. It is about 13-1/2"-dia. x 2-3/4” H. The RRP hallmark is imprinted on the bottom ‘Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co Roseville Ohio USA.’ It appears as virtually new…no chips, cracks, or crazing. It would be well-suited for a cottage- or farmhouse-décor, and other possibilities, too. (The company was established in 1900 and remained in operation for over 100 years. At its closing, the company claimed to have been the oldest continuously operating stoneware factory in the U.S. and the world's largest manufacturer of stoneware crocks.) This bowl is great for personal use or as a decor piece, and a wonderful gift for an avid pasta-maker or vintage stoneware collector. It’s available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
