Vintage BLENKO Hand-blown Tall Antique Green Glass Paper Bag Vase is about 11-1/2" H x 6" W x 4” D and weighs about 3-1/2 lbs. This is a classic American/Appalachian art piece, the original shape as designed by BLENKO’s pre-eminent artisan Don Shepherd in his tenure before passing, 1974 – 1988. His glass forms are organic and curvy and liquid, expressing fluidity and movement. This is an exemplary piece, virtually as new…no chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing. It does have a few entrained bubbles, inherent in the blown-glass technique. While it has no applied provenance…no stickers or signature…it does have the pontil on the base, the ‘scar’ from the work of blown glass. It’s available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
