IKEA ‘Nymane’ LED Pendant Ceiling Lamp has a white metal rim x 15”-dia. w/white acrylic plastic diffuser. Out-of-the-box it is a conventionally-controlled light fixture. It must be hard-wired to an electrical source and switched On/Off by a standard wall switch. It does have built-in capabilities of wireless, dimmable- and color-control operation with use of an optional (NOT included) IKEA remote ‘steering device’ and/or use of the IKEA Home Smart App and a TRADFRI gateway (see IKEA website for further information.) Conventional use of the 22-watt LED light source can last 20 times longer than an incandescent bulb and can consume about 85-percent less energy. (If it breaks or stops illuminating, a new one can be purchased from IKEA.) With an optional control device and Smart App, accessible features would include:
• Wireless control
• Color temperature control between 2200 Kelvin (warm glow), 2700 Kelvin (warm white) and 4000 Kelvin (cool white)
• Dimmable
The fixture comes with the 15”-dia. fixture and the electrical cord (pigtail) about 5’ L. Typical of IKEA, mounting hardware (screws, etc.) that might be needed for the fixture’s installation IS NOT included. (User must assess his/her circumstances and purchase accordingly, from a hardware supplier.) The retail price of the basic ‘Nymane’ outfit at IKEA is about $100 + Tax. It’s a bargain here and available for local pick-up in San Rafael, cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
