Hi there,
I’m currently seeking a safe, stable place to park my small 14' Casita trailer while I continue my job search and work toward getting back on my feet. I was laid off from my tech job shortly before the Southern California wildfires hit, and had to flee Los Angeles due to serious smoke inhalation and unsafe conditions. Since then, I’ve been living in the trailer with my sweet rescue dog, Phife, doing everything I can to stay afloat — including farm work, construction, and even roofing jobs along the way.
It’s been a humbling and meaningful experience — but not without challenges — and I’m now in need of a quiet place to settle and focus fully on rebuilding. Ideally I’m looking for a spot on level ground with:
• Access to running water for basic hygiene and sanitation
• Some electricity access — enough to keep an electric cooler cold, occasionally run a fan or AC, and charge the trailer battery
I’m in my 30s, quiet, clean, and respectful. My income is very limited right now, but I’d be happy to talk about what may be possible. I’m open to light help or a small work trade if it’s a good fit — though my main focus is returning to full-time work, so I’m not in a position to take on anything too physically demanding or time-intensive.
If you or someone you know has a little space to spare — even temporarily — it would mean the world. I’m especially interested in locations that are transit-accessible to San Francisco, as many of the roles I’m applying for are hybrid.
Warmly,
Emily
