Position: Registered Dietitian
Reports to: Client Services & Nutrition Director
Status: Non-Exempt, 40 hrs. per week
Compensation: $30-35 per hour, depending on experience
Food For Thought is a nonprofit that fosters health and healing with food and compassion. Our lifesaving, comprehensive services include weekly groceries and medically tailored meals, vitamins and supplements, and nutrition education to Sonoma County residents impacted by a range of serious medical conditions.
Located in Forestville in a beautiful building surrounded by organic gardens, FFT includes a staff of 24 and over 500 active volunteers. Our agency operates with a culture of philanthropy, in which there is tremendous involvement by board, staff and volunteers to support our fundraising efforts. This newly created position will work collaboratively with FFT’s Client Services & Nutrition Director as well as the two other members of the department to recruit new clients and provide nutrition assessment and appropriate nutrition interventions to clients with a range of health conditions.
The Registered Dietitian conducts intakes and follow-ups with new clients
Provide medical nutrition therapy
Help to promote programs with referrers to assist in the recruitment of new clients
Work with the DTR and director to plan nutrition coaching and specific menus for clients based on medical need
Support a new meal program designed to help clients with certain chronic conditions
Participate in nutritional analysis
Track client outcomes and follow-up activities

Enthusiastic about working with clients from all walks of life
Experience with clinical nutrition and nutrition counseling
Familiarity with medical records, medications, and making appropriate nutrition recommendations
Overall computer literacy, proficiency with MS Word and Excel, and some database experience
Some social media experience is preferred
Superb organizational, time management and interpersonal skills as well as an attention to detail
Comfort in working in a lively and fast paced office environment
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
