St. Helena Veterinary Hospital is looking for a veterinary technician to join our small and large animal practice. We are a well-established and independent veterinary hospital and have served all of Napa County with quality veterinary care for 30 years.
Attributes we are looking for in candidates:
*Confident self-starter willing to learn and be trained in all tasks
*Experience is not required as we will teach you (a good job record is more important than specific veterinary experience
*Be willing and comfortable learning and performing medical and office procedures (placing IV catheters, digital radiography, ultrasound, blood and urine collection. anesthetic monitoring, assisting in surgery, animal restraint, dispensing medications, checking in and charging out clients, giving oral and injectable medications, providing client education, dental polishing and scaling, and general cleaning)
*High level of comfort with animals and their owners
*Ability to interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional, compassionate and clear manner and maintain client confidentiality
*Positive attitude and upbeat team player
*Physical ability to lift, restrain and move up to 50 pound animals on your own, and the ability to be on your feet for several hours at a time on a regular and consistent basis
*Ability to multi-task
*Weekends are required (on rotation)
*High school diploma or equivalent
*18 years or older
