Currently Sonoma Valley Hospital has an opening for an experienced, full time Collections Specialist in our Patient Accounting department.

Initiates billing of primary claims for all Commercial and Workers' Compensation claims for Sonoma Valley Hospital. Provides troubleshooting if claims do not pass edification in system scrubber and revises as appropriate. Reports any registration/admitting issues on front end that impact the claims' submission to appropriate payer. Reports registration issues so that Admitting Manager can use data to train front-line staff. Handles incoming phone calls/questions regarding billing, follow-up and collections. Works with PFS Coordinator to resolve outstanding Workers' Compensation issues.

Excellent knowledge of Commercial/Federal/Workers' Compensation Regulations. 10 key. Medical terminology. Able to operate in multiple software systems. Computer proficient. Excellent follow up skills. Organized and very detail oriented at claims' processing level. Must be able to multitask. Heavy phone work. Troubleshooting billing and follow/up issues with patients and payers. Identifies issues in E Premise. Excellent communicator with peers, SVH staff and patients.

Must be able to fluently read, write and speak the primary language, which is English. High school grad or GED required. Spanish speaker strongly preferred but not required. A minimum of two years facility billing experience or billing follow up preferred.
