We have many vintage field trays when our ranches were primarily in prunes from the 1920's to the early 1980's before transitioning to grapes. They were used to dry Imperial prunes in the sun.
Trays are 6' (height) by 3' (width) and appriximately 1.75" deep for fruit. The trays have been shored up and washed. They are a good 90 years of age and made of old growth redwood. Many local restaurants, wineries and the Healdsburg Museum have bought these field prune trays for displaying items.
Materials alone exceed $40.00 to acquire, then there is the fabrication time and costs.
We have used these field trays to post displays at events, products and for partitions at parties.
