CB2 SAIC Quantam Rocking Chair - Design Winner - Rare - $950 (san rafael)

This chair was made by then SAIC design student, Taeyoung Choi, who won the CB2 Design Challenge by answering the question, "What does 'live well' mean in the context of home design?" CB2 was so impressed by his response in this chair that they put it into production. It was an immediate success. The intention for this chair was "to trace the shape of the human body and allow one to become totally immersed in the chair."
After owning this exquisite piece, I will say it is hard to give up. I am a designer who used to make lamps, home furnishings, and home objects, and now am a clothing designer. Every piece in my home is with incredible intention, as I live with very few objects. Because I used to also sell high-end furniture, I know the value of a good chair, and I also know that there is a lot of crap on the market that pretends to be good design. Or, the design is good, but the materials are junk. This chair is good design, and good materials.
I am in a new era of my life of turning a new age (aka my birthday), and have been going through a deep healing where I am justifying this transition with (of course) resetting the atmosphere of my home. Everything I sell will be repurposed to either pay off debt or re-invest in other objects that will bring me the well-being of this new chapter of life as a single mother and entrepreneur.
