Hard to believe quality that Mutual Sunset lamps have. This lamp has the original finish in unbelievable condition , no signs of corrosion anywhere on it. Even underneath it’s clean as a whistle. I have completely disassembled the lamp and gently cleaned it entirely and put it back together exactly as it was. Parts on it that on cheaper lamps are pot metal but these are solid brass. This lamp needs functional restoration, the switch needs to be replaced. They have an interesting history, began in 1924 producing only higher quality lamps. In 1943 the owner suffered an ailment that closed it down. After the war he had recovered and founded the famous Laurel lamp company which produced some of the most famous mcm lamps ever made.
